I am actually the communities original creator, diskoboy. I was hoping to bring this community brought back to life, and change a few things around. Unfortunately, that is no longer possible.

the diskoboy account was deleted and purged, and when I came back as Curly_wurly, I lost moderator access to the so it pains me to say, I no longer have any control over this community, since I can't re-access my old account to add my name to the mod list.

From this moment forward - this page will no longer be strictly retro games. I have decided consoles (old and new), old and new games have every right to be talked about here, as. Until I can figure out a way to get my new name in the mod list, all rules on the info page are out the window (but you still cant ask about MAME ROM's - that rule will stick.)

So from this moment forward, talk about your Xbox 360, Wii, or Playstation 3! Talk about the games you're playing lately! Write up you own reviews on any game you want!

A few weeks ago my fiance and I were at bowling ally, and guess what we saw. That's right, a Pac-Man machine! Good thing, too, because I was horrible at bowling that night.

So thanks Pac-Man for making up for that!

Promoting a new Community

Trying to start a new community dedicated to all things relating to the golden era of video games. The arcade games, building a MAME cabinet, your old atari 2600 or Colecovision - and all such related topics.

Hey There...
I've been writing a series of classic video game humor pieces in my LJ, and I'm looking for feedback on them before I write more. Here's one I think everyone here might enjoy (feel free to check out my last few entries for others!):

Ghosthunters: The Lost Reveal
I found this lost scene of a reveal from the show "Ghosthunters" and decided to transcribe for you, my loyal readers:

Jason: Thanks for letting us spend the night in your house. It was definitely a worthwhile experience.
Client: I'm glad you came. I needed someone to let the world know I wasn't crazy.
Grant: Well, I think we can show you a few things that may just prove that. First of all, several of our staff reported felling "uneasy" in certain areas of your house.
Jason: True, but that doesn't provide you with any hard evidence. We also got no EVPs at all...
(*quick cut scene: Grant: EVP's are "electronic voice phenomena." That's when our recorders pick up something that we don't hear ourselves, usually whispering voices.*)
Client: I see.
Grant: One of our guys did get attacked. Unfortunately, he was too busy running and soiling himself to get any footage. We did find something on our thermal, though.
Jason: Yeah. The thermal camera picked up something I think you need to see. Here it is: http://users.tkk.fi/~eye/videogames/maze.gif
Client: That's it! That's the thing that's been trying to kill me!! I can't believe you caught it!
Grant: Yes, we definitely caught what we believe are four apparitions towards the center of your house.
Client: I can't believe it. I'm shaking. I'm actually shaking. What do I do?
Jason: Well, I noticed you left food all over the house. You may want to clean that up.
Client: That'll get rid of the ghosts?
Grant: No, it's just freakin' disgusting. Clean your damn house.
Jason: You might try eating the big dots in the corners. We think that might make the apparitions themselves edible.
Client: Really?
Jason: No. You are so screwed. You need to get the hell out of this house, man.
Client: Thanks for nuthin', bitches.

Pac-Man stuff for sale - round 1
Alright, dammit:

In an effort to take up less space in my house and pay off my dad-blasted credit cards once and for all, I am...*choke*...selling pieces of my treasured shrine to Pac-Man (as seen in my appearance on VH-1's "Totally Obsessed.")

I'll be doing this for the next few weeks if all goes well, and also listing some other things (for those of you who don't know, I used to sell classic gaming stuff online a LOT - and I still have some inventory left that I need to annihilate.)

Go here to see what I've got for sale if you care about such things.

Pac-Man Fever

Just wanted to mention my church just had a Pac-Man upright donated to the Youth group. Myself, the minister, my son and a friend of his stayed up there Sun night playing Pac-Man! It was a blast.

And my son's friend has never played Pac-Man before to boot.

Pac-Man forever!
Hey all! Just found this community. I was actually searching to see if there were any other communities dedicated to Pac-Man, as I started one up myself. While this one seems to be more fan-based, mine is more game-based. It's called pacmanonline. I know it's a shameless plug, but if you're interested, you should check it out and possibly even join. I do my best to bring the newest Pac-Man gaming news to LiveJournal, but I wouldn't mind the help of others as well.

As for me, I've been a fan of Pac-Man since I was 6 years old and it's just always been a part of my life. Most of my friends all know me as a Pac-Man fanatic, and I've been in communities before that were for Pac-Man fans. In fact, the guy who posted below me is the guy who designed The First Church of Pac-Man, which I drew a picture for.

So yeah, that's a little about me. Thanks all for reading my post!

Whoah! Neat!
Hi, I'm the Pac-Man guy from VH-1's "Totally Obsessed," and the keeper of the First Church of Pac-Man website ( http://www.firstchurchofpacman.com ) which hasn't been updated in way too long.

I just discovered this here group thingy. Neat stuff, dammit! Glad to see so many others gathered in praise of the glorious golden semi-circle of life. May your enemies remain blue and edible as He guides you through the maze of existence. All praise to he who eats of the dot.

May fruit appear before thee,
Reverend -=ShoEboX=-

Obscure question...
Does anybody remember those Pac-man ice cream treats they made between '81-'83? They were like ice cream bars on a stick. Pac Man was lemon flavored, the ghosts were fruit punch flavored, and eventually there was a Ms. Pac-Man, and I beleve it was pink lemonade flavored. I've searched all over the web and the only 2 pac-man related food items that ever come up is the cereal and the pasta. Does anybody remember these? I think they were made by Good Humor.. If so, are there any ice cream bars now a days that would resemble these? They were really good, from what I remember of them (considering it was 23 years ago).

1st round draft pick for the Tennessee Titans:

Adam "Pac-Man" Jones

I laughed my ass off when I heard this. Not for the pick, but the Pac-Man name. He loves to play Pac-Man, hence the nick.

Ok... At least I thought it was funny.

The latest issue of EGM has a 25th anniversary spotlight on Pac-Man, including a few shots of the upcoming Pac-Man World 3 for Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube.

And Namco is also doing a Pac-Man Pinball game for Game Boy Advance.

Finally, a random Pac-Man cartoon that someone sent me about a very brief history of Pac-Man (but I warn in advance, the humor is a little raunchy):
